Graduation over and on our way to Normandy
We had a great but exhausting day at Katie's grad. It started with a procession from her college to the Sheldonian in the rain and then the ceremony itself - as promised, in Latin. It really was a great ceremony and the same one that they have used for hundreds of years. Both Katie and Ken were bored but I found the whole thing quite fascinating. Then a few photos at historic locations and a lunch back at Katie's college, more photos, visits to pubs and dinner. A busy day. We finally met Katie's good friend Oz and his parents who were lots of fun. They aare from the former Yugoslavia and left at the beginning of the war for Canada.
We are now on the train to Portsmouth and then a ferry to Cherbourg to our B&B and cooking school. A travel day which is fine by me as I am planning to have a nice snooze. I will post a grad photo later and we will post from France.

Mazelle tov! Are you meeting the Sugarmnans in Paris to fly home? What food are you bringing back for Dr. Ken and me?
Thanks. No we are flying home a day later from Heathrow. They are going Air Canada on points and we are going return on Icelandair. So 11 hours through Reykjavik but Bus Class. Not sure we can bring food and maintain our Nexus status. If its really yummy we will. Ken
