Tour Montparnasse, Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe

The tour Montparnasse is considered an eyesore, so one of the benefits of going up it is that it doesn't sully the view of Paris. It's been another beautiful day in Paris with sunny, clear skies and a very pleasant 25C. We rode by Vélib to Denfert-Rochereau at 10am to line up for entry to the catacombs. Although we were there within a half hour of opening, we were told it would be a 3-hour wait. Fast forward to plan B. We grabbed new vélos and headed to the nearby tour Montparnasse where we only had a 35-minute wait to go up to the observatory.

After some lunch of baguette sandwiches, espressos, and a shared tartelette au citron, we did some shopping at Galeries Lafayettes and then headed to the Champs Elysées via métro for a stroll towards the arc de triomphe.

Back at our apartment, we recharged with our leftover cheese from last night and a bottle of Crémant d'Alsace. At 9pm, we are scheduled for a dinner cruise on the Seine. We opted for a company called Le Calife, which is supposed to be much less touristy than Bateaux Mouches. The cruise embarks 2 minutes from our apartment, at the quai Malaquais. More on that later tonight or tomorrow!
